This week, each class throughout the school had an opportunity to visit the Life Education Wessex Bus! Each child has thoroughly enjoyed the visit. They learnt new things and each class (other than Year Six) had a visit from Harold the giraffe! This bus visits Homelands every two years so if the children are not ill, they will have at least four visits during their time at the school. Every two years, the children are very excited about this event and are amused by the outcome. These visits last for at least two hours and the children come back telling everyone what they’ve learnt!
Let’s check out attendance!
Foundation Stage Two: 93.3% (7th place)
Year One: 99.3% (1st place, well done!)
Year Two: 98% (4th place with two lates)
Year Three: 98.6% (2nd place, so near yet so far!)
Year Four: 96% (6th place, you really need to pull your socks up!)
Year Five: 98% (3rd place with no lates)
Year Six: 96.6% (5th place, come on!)
Well done to Year One for winning the attendance cup for the first time this half term. A few classes really need to pull their socks up if they want to win, especially you, Year Four! The average attendance for the week was 97.1%.
Let’s see how good the house points are!
Killer Whales: 175 house points (1st place, very well done! Could this be the start of a winning streak?)
Kodiak Bears: 161 house points (2nd place, so close!)
Bengal Tigers: 127 house points (4th place, what happened?)
Golden Eagles: 146 house points (3rd place)
Well done to the Killer Whales for winning the house cup! Could this be the start of an unbroken winning streak?
As storms, wind and rain are forecast, please make sure you have got a coat in school in case of cold or drizzle. If you do not have a coat in school, you cannot go outside at lunchtime.
World Book Day will soon be upon us! It will be a fun day with no uniform. You can dress up as your favourite book character and bring in the book they’re from, provided that it has your name in it. It promises to be an exciting day, so come along as your favourite book character on Thursday 2nd March!
The upcoming World Book Day brings our annual Book Fair! Ranging from Welcome to Reading (2 years+) to Read Alone (8 years+), there’s something here for everyone, so be sure to bring along some money to bag a new read! It runs from Thursday 24th February – Tuesday 28th February, before school at 8:30am and after school at 3:15pm.
It’s been a great week so we’ll be back with more next week!
